For generations, the world has had an urgent need for God-called men to preach the Word with precision and power. Men of faith who stand boldly, refusing to replace sound doctrine with modern-day cultural soundbites, that threaten the unity and influence of the Church. In His infinite wisdom and grace, God has appointed a man for this season to serve as the 18th Pastor of Greater Pearlie Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
“If I am not preaching the Gospel, then what message of hope could I possibly offer broken and lost souls." Rev. Arthur R. Bridges, II
Rev. Arthur R. Bridges, II, demonstrates a sincere and profound desire to share the love of Jesus Christ with others through the teaching and preaching of biblical principles. God has shaped him with a unique blend of ministerial leadership experience, educational training and God-inspired passion.
A native Mississippian, Rev. Bridges was born into a family of faith where he received early teachings and instructions in the Lord. Rev. Bridges is a graduate of Southern University and A & M College of Baton Rouge, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
In 2000, Rev. Bridges joined the Greater Pearlie Grove M. B. Church where he served in several ministries. After several years as working as an engineer, Rev. Bridges yielded to God's direction and accepted his calling to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 2003. Later, a growing desire for more knowledge of God led him to Liberty University where he received a Master of Divinity in Biblical Studies. In 2017, he yielded to God's call once again and walked away from the professional workplace, to serve as full-time Youth Pastor for Greater Pearlie Grove M. B. Church. He is an enthusiast advocate for children and spends much of his personal time mentoring and counseling youth. Under his leadership, Greater Pearlie Grove expanded it's outreach to youth and launched the BluePrint and Next Step Ministries. These ministries focus on laying a strong foundation of faith by equipping youth with biblical knowledge and life application experiences so that they, too, can learn, grow, and serve. In addition to his duties as Youth Pastor, Rev. Bridges provided marriage and family counseling for many congregants.
After serving as Greater Pearlie Grove’s Youth Pastor for more than 15 years, Rev. Arthur R. Bridges, II, was called to serve as Pastor of Greater Pearlie Grove M. B. Church on October 7, 2021.
Pastor Bridges is married to the former Angela Davis, and they share three children: JaMychael, Raela, and Brayden Bridges.
Pastor Bridges has a deep, abiding faith in God; and that shapes who he is and how he serves people.
